Hey all i just can share you all information about all aspects around flying jets in BF2042. Here is my honest review about the game and the mechanics behind flying jets.

Being a long time Jet Pilot in BF3 and BF4, I'm really hoping others share the sentiment that the Jets in BF2042 and respectively BF3's Portal release are a complete let down.
**
Speed Control**
One of the cornerstones of any new and veteran pilot is speed control. In BF2042 it's simply not there, the Jets turn like trucks and are very slow. They keep the designline of the failed BFV flying which i just can't understand. In the best titles like BF3 and BF4 it was paramount that you controlled your speed in every single turn. A great pilot developed a distinct feel of how a Jet would turn and knows the "sweet-spot" and that would distinguish them alone from amateur jet pilots.

In BF2042 this seems completely destroyed. There is no option for jets to automatically thrust to max speed, and when you try to turn, the Jet's speed crushes dramatically. This makes speed control of a Jet feel INCREDIBLY sluggish, slow and stuck in mud. Pitching up or tapping the pitch-up recenteres your crosshair every tap, which makes you feel you are fighting more against your own jet then others.

FoV and Camera
The FOV of the Jet seems to be locked or not wide enough for a pleasent experience. Since the Jet doesn't revolve around crosshair, but follows it, the Jet's camera really feels weird.

Air Radar for any dogfighter is an neccessity. It shows in realtime other air vehicles that are near your vicinity. BF3 in its original state featured this loadout option for Jets, why has it been removed from Battlefield Portal's rendition? What was portal made for if they changed the old battlefield titles fundamentally...

Basically, right now it's strong but the other 3 are disspaointing. Post changes if the gap closes, the nerf will be very surgical. If the gap remains wide, the nerf will be more substantial.

Yeah it happened before so now I'm being overly cautious. People enjoy it, so I don't want to remove that. Just bring it in line. Sometimes the weapon needs to come closer to the line, other times we need to move the line.

I think there is ONE thing you guys can do with short barrel.

Have it increase spread so the gun isn't too good in longer ranges OR adjust the velocity even more.

The one thing that the VSS gets me thinking is that it's meant to be an aggressive DMR because of its velocity and intergated suppressor. I get that short barrel is meant to incentivise aggressive play but it kinda messes with things.

Yeah, I'm just thinking of the Saiga cause it doesn't matter with lowered velocity cause it's a damn shotgun.

Maybe specifically adjust it.

I'd honestly just say remove short barrel and buff these guns as if they had it. Give the m5 a psuedo short barrel so then it can be a bit more flexible with what it can use.
