Camping existed a LOT, I'd know, I hated it with a passion and didn't see much difference coming into MW19

3line never became boring. map design did thats by people still play raid nuketown standoff and other remakes to this day

Nuketown can't really be called a 3line map, the center has obstacles and it's really a lane
People are glad to get maps with other morphology because it brings some more unknown
IW doesn't seem to know how to make proper 3lines anymore, the most prominent example being Harbor
Raid and Standoff are 3lines hybrid because they do have three paths but you can go across the whole map without issue so it's more of a tic tac toe map
MW19 has smarter/more annoying campers at best, slightly more at worst
