Basically he said that the numbers right now are set to one because people would just choose the helicopters that farm infantry. But if they decide to split it into AA / Tank / Jet / Attack heli / scout heli / transport then each vehicle class effectively counters the other. there’s a ranged kills assignment for it, i think 50 kills over 125m which is fairly straightforward for the longer range focused weapons or you can easily just cheese it in a match of co-op

Devs are humans too; it's easy for some people to forget that when all they see you as is just a means to potentially fulfilling their selfish demands for what they feel the game should be like.

"Why did you do X/Y"

It's discouraging; I know that and I'm not even a dev. Because I'm a normal human being who is fucking able to sympathize.

I enjoy discourse with the devs because it's always interesting to me to gain internal insight on how a game works/is made, and I also just think it's a ton of fun to talk about a fun game with the people who help make it real. Every single time I play the game I'm constantly impressed with the number of voice lines, the quality of the voice acting, the satisfying haptic feedback when you reload a gun. And that's just mentioning the minor details.

Being able to have direct communication with the community of people that built all of that is just really engaging and fun to me. I've made friends over at Riot Games just because they enjoy the fact that I don't constantly pester them with "give me free riot points" and "when will you buff my main????" because, surprise, it turns out that being treated as a human being is meaningful.

It's not like the game can't get better. There's currently one pretty annoying bug where Ranger doesn't follow you when you doubletap E. Doubletapping E will just input two movement commands instead so Ranger will never follow you again the first time you command him to move somewhere. I find that pretty annoying. Jets are slow to level because of requiring vehicle kills and also are just underpowered overall. Lack of proximity team-voice chat makes it hard to work together outside of your Squad.

There are tons of things that can improve and honestly are downright detracting from the game, as mentioned above. But when you think about how many moving parts are in this system, and how fun it is to play (especially with the newest patch) even in spite of its minor shortcomings, it's really hard not to appreciate the game for what it is. I bought the game four days ago and I've put in a ton of hours on it already. I honestly wasn't expecting how much fun I was going to have in it and I have your team to partially thank for that.

There are negative, distasteful, hateful, and entitled people out there (some of them are a mixture of all of that and more) who will want to make you feel like shit just for working for that company. It is easy to respond to this with feelings of discouragement, feeling like you're being repelled, and uncertainty about fitting into the community just because of your background. But I don't think anyone deserves to feel leery of interacting with the community just because some of them are selfish, entitled pricks.

There are a lot of people who would love to see and chat with the people who made the game, and not even necessarily only about the game itself. So my advice is to not be afraid to open up. Just remember how to close yourself off too, from the naysayers. Figure out how to properly dissect positive feedback and separate it from the chaff and negativity. There's a clear difference between "this gun sucks it's overpowered" and "I feel like the damage dropoff for X gun just isn't strict enough, it kills me further than I feel is appropriate."
