There are many things that could cause it like Windows permissions, antivirus, some Windows settings, onedrive, Gdrive, anti-malware software etc. You will have to troubleshoot. The first thing I would try would be manually starting Origin and the game as administrator.

I do get the appeal of "completing" a game and having something to show for it. Only done it with very few games though. Vice City I 100%'d, Vermintide 2, two point hospital and Beatsaber are what I recall. But air vehicles are extremely fine-tuned regarding infantry; it's really hard for them to reliably gun down infantry without rockets or cannons

And even then, cannons like the Condor's 50mm (which requires upgrades and levels, by the way) takes approx~ 3-4 shots to kill a single infantry unless you somehow direct impact them.

They did this on purpose because playing as infantry would be absolute and utter cancer if aircraft were able to reliably gun them down with all (or most) of their offensive options.
