The M5 is very clearly modeled on the AR-15 platform so we can assume it uses .223 rounds. While the AC-42 isn’t a real gun, it draws inspiration from the Thales F90 MBR or AUG A3 or possibly a Tavor, which is chambered in 5.56x45mm. Yes there is a difference. Many AR’s barrels are not able to be chambered in anything other than Remington .223. So we can assume the AC-42 while very similar round size does do more damage which I believe is also the case in game if I’m not mistaken.
