Before the nerf you could hide it literally anywhere, especially in some dark corner of some highly populated objective
On Discarded, I'd put it next to a zipline up on the ship so I'd spawn directly on the bridge repeatedly and they'd think I'd just spawn and go up the zipline everytime and I was alone against like 7-8 guys and somehow eventually I got the point by myself and a couple other dudes that eventually joined me in this "mission"

The point being, if the beacon was that fckn huge then, I wouldn't have been able to do it because it would actually look like an actual landmark
