The scope of work looks more like what a modder could do in a weekend with an XL pepperoni pizza and a few 2 liter bottles of Mt. Dew.

Some of it is, random shipping containers in the middle of the field growing produce makes sense because...uh...raisins. There is some more detailed work being done to Kaleidoscope, but the mapes are all in desperate need of big reworks that even the two announced maps aren't getting. Kaleidoscope on CQ is gonna waste like...30% of the map space, it's just empty and unused with no objectives or reason to go there ever.

Considering they've said they don't even have the hardware budget to add in more neutral vehicles so players can get around maps better, I'm beyond skeptical we'll see big, complex physics simulations for building destruction being added.

The first choke point is such a brutal bloodbath it’s insane, using the vehicle assembly building as the first point is genius

Then it funnels to the tunnel and launch pad with the two sites on both sides of the track.

In a game like Battlefield, which casts a wide net of players, (which is obviously intentional to drive up sales), you’re going to have players who don’t give a shit about teamplay. There’s a reason why more hardcore FPS games that punish people for not understanding the teamplay elements aren’t mainstream. There’s a level of complexity that goes into encouraging teamplay, and not overbearing the player. Maybe 2042 isn’t perfect in that regard. But I don’t think any BF game I’ve played has been amazing at it either. It really just depends who you get matched with.

You’re right. The teamplay in Battlefield is one of the few things that drove me towards the series in the first place. It’s the perfect middle ground between a realistic shooter and an arcade shooter.

I think them increasing the points for healing and giving ammo in the last patch was a good step forward for teamplay. But I still think you should get more. In previous games you would get points for healing depending how much damage you heal instead of a blanket amount. That should come back. Giving ammo should give way more XP. In previous titles reviving a player gave as much XP as a kill. Why it’s still not like that IDK. Same thing with assists count as kills. Wtf did that go?

You know those shield enemies from the CoD campaigns? Basically do that, just don't be a dumb bot and only advance when you absolutely need to

You have to keep in mind that your shield has a very tight angle of protection and that your turning speed will be decreased while its out, so you have to do your best to keep enemies in front of you.

Nah i liked mixing and matching shit. It was one of the few fun things about V's customization. I mean. All of it felt like tacked on last minute because they had to, but making your gun look like a christmas tree was quite hilarious

Even the gameplay in v took months to get good. Terrain forced you to stand if you clipped, you couldn't mantle properly half the time, bipods were broken, etc

Maybe I’m tripping but I don’t think half of the haters have even played 2042 as the “complaints” are all very superficial. Since the game technically works better than most battlefield games about now people whine about specialists being “cringe” and the maps being flat. So

1. The specialists: you can’t really tell who is who when there’s a hundred dudes shooting at eachother on a point and all you can see is explosions and tracers everywhere and the “cringe” lines take 5 straight seconds at the end of the game

2: the maps aren’t good and aren’t bad, they are fine. There’s only so much you can do with 128 without killing the engine, they knew this a decade ago

The red lights do help you distinguish between friend and foe. Still weird seeing clones running around the battlefield though. It takes a lot of the immersion out.

There's also manifest with ships, I actually like that map. My least favourite map would have to be hourglass, pre-so many patches it was near impossible to win in the last stage of breakthrough where the enemy team camped on the towers

People say 2042 is dead yet I am able to find full 128 games at 1 in the morning in under 10 seconds, and about 30 full portal servers. All im saying is something doesn’t add up there

You have steam, origin, Xbox, PlayStation <current and last gen> all in the same game, I’d say probably in my region about 50k are online at peak and 10k at low

At peak I can find about 70 portal servers on weekends

100+ with 5-10 slots open
