Played a round where we defended successfully last night, then a few rounds where I was also on defense where we got wiped hard. I wish we could pick if we wanted to play attack/defense, being stuck on the same "side" 3-4 matches in a row sucks. A lot.

It does. But it acts as a dual-purpose proximity sensor and a defensive turret which...is kinda busted. Like how Angel is both an infinite-armor supplier (a gadget) and an infinite ammo supplier (another gadget). Too strong.

But Boris doesn't get spotted by the turret, unless he's literally hanging out right underneath/next to it like a scrublord.

Most Boris's are near their turret I find.

Angel (unless he has the ammo crate) needs to drop his supply drop to get gadget ammo which gives away his position because it needs to parachute in, the beacon makes noise, and it shows up on the map.

The camera angle is so much better now, it feels extremely smooth and natural. The bullshit where your character picks up a proning player before starting the animation is still there though.

Like, that has to be the most half-assed thing in the game. Why even add 3rd person takedown if they're not even willing to add animations to take down proning players?

Officially hit 100 hours of playtime. and I have come to a final conclusion on why 2042 fucking sucks

They built the maps and specialist system, specifically for Sundance.
Every single map is in no short supply of tower like, structures that can't be destroyed that are perfect launch points for Sundance to fly across the entire map
The lack of cover and open nature design of the map is so Sundance's scatter grenade is guaranteed to always kill at least 1 person.
Sundances lock on Grenade is perfect for fighting lighter vehicles and helicopters
Her EMP grenade can make sure heavy armor can't effectively take her out.
She is literally the most versatile specialist in the game. Made more so when considering the everyone can use whatever they want means she can place down a spawn beacon wherever she wants, and their small quiet nature makes her and squadmates an absolute PAIN to get rid of. And it means she can take any weapon she wants to destroy enemy positions however she wants too.

And this isn't even saltiness, I have played portal versions of 2042 with Sundance disabled and it is like a NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE

I think the stat tracker clearly shows the problem with hitreg in this game. Headshot rates are way too high on every single weapon, being around 1 every 3 kills for the average player. Have you ever felt like all the SMGs and ARs have the same ttk as a shotgun in close range when fired from close range, that you get killed by what feels like one frame? I think it's obvious that its because headshots are registered way more often than they should be, not to mention that headshot damage is a bit too high on most of the weapons.

I tried out the AR ttk with a friend on a portal server. And apparently AK24 does 50 headshot damage, which means that 2 headshots is a kill. AC42 does 70 hs damage, which is fucking wack.

I had a similar issue with the Rao tier 1 skin. I had to get it to the next mastery to unlock it (even though it was supposed to be unlocked at that mastery). So try getting it to mastery 4.
