The vast, open tracts of land are memorable! And on this small location of the desert with no cover I was blown up by a nightbird. Right next to where I was sniped 4 times because there was no cover to hide behind while trying to cross 200 meters of desert. And at the end back there is where a condor melted me while remaining out of range of my stinger missile. Ah, great memories for great maps.

There's a very good reason as to why they didn't do 128 players before. I remember seeing back in BF3? days, the lead producer or whatever mentioned they were able to have 64v64 and had done some testing in house but found it to not work very well

I found exactly what was said. This was back when BF3 released and the General Manager said they could technically do up to 256 players and had tested 128 players thoroughly. They found it just wasn't fun to play and they had done substantial research into it.

Oh, 100%. It's not just "double mapsize, call it a day" and requires a lot more be taken into consideration, especially how having more vehicles impacts map balance, team composition, flow etc. Which is why it's a bummer that either the team seemed way in over their head with 128 players, or didn't have enough time to actually like, make good maps and had to essentially push out "minimum viable product" work (which the game feels like in a lot of areas)

But I generally dislike platform exclusivity (I'm a PC guy mostly so this doesn't really impact me since the games will come to PC as well) and really dislike companies like Microsoft buying up major publishers. IMO the gaming ecosystem is best when there are a lot of big publishers + platform makers all competing on software. Instead of say, Microsoft and Sony buying up all the big publishers (EA, Ubi, Activision etc.) and it essentially being those two competing + Nintendo being Nintendo and doing their own thing.

Honestly it didn't seem like their model was sustainable in the longterm so they needed to be bought out to stay afloat.
