It's an excellent question with a very complex answer. But i will try to simplify as much as I can here.

I would say, starting by identifying what's the space you want to fill. And that space can be defined by either conceptual features (it has anti tank properties) or by mechanical features (it has low RPM, or it has plastic bullet casings)

Once that is defined its a matter of fitting it into the package of the rest of the weapons. For this you probably want a group of "scales", and pinning this weapon within those scales. By this I mean "how fast it forest against others", "how much muzzle velocity", "how short is the reload times".

Once all that is defined and you get the "numerical" done, it's about breathing life into it via animation and sound.

The reason they had to launch was because EA spent a bunch on marketing hype for the holidays and missing the holiday window would cost them more than delivering the game later after hype has died. It’s how marketing works. Statics prove it.

First of all. This BF 2042 is a brand new thing. Specialists and wannabe here apex hero talks have never been in previously bf titles.
Most of BF veterans since from beginning dont like this wannabe mix of call of duty and apex legends/fortnite.
