i think that's a little subjective. to some people, the k30 isn't a good combat gun because it just isn't their playstyle.
for some people, dmrs, snipers are cool, for some people the gvt is cool.
I don't personally use it every time I play the game, but it exists, and I enjoyed playing it.

While yes, this gun is based on a 19th-century lever-action rifle, from what I researched on colt's page about the henry 45-75 (and 30-30) it's not the steam-based weapon that would classify itself as "steampunk" in modern times. mainly because, as it's defined, this gun is not existing in a Victorian-like era, it's not build like a Victorian-era steam technology, and nothing about it screams "retro-futuristic" [in reference to its 2042 appearance] .

Plus, even if it was something from a steampunk-like model in this game, you always have the option to just not use it. I use it because i find joy in using it, you are not required to use it, you don't even have to recognize its existence, so don't if this is going to be your argument.

I do recognize it's about 1/6 of the weapon choices in it's marksman category. It's the worst performing weapon. It's given the benefit of the doubt with the ability to 1 shot headshot when better weapon systems do not. Pumping steam is what steam punk is about. Regardless if you're actually pumping steam in this particular weapon, it doesn't matter, it's still a steam punk weapon. And too much steam punk was happening in BF1 and BFV and has no place in a return to regular battlefield. If they want to put steampunk into COD then they should go do that.

in 2042 you just have to worry about the reload time, which becomes less of an issue based on target availability, if you've had time or forethought to reload the gun. That's it, the GVT would be the best sniper in the game, and in fact could be the top performing gun in the game. Obviously though, it's a complete trash weapon system.
