Alright. So here are the still existing bugs that bother me the most after playing for 440 hours: hitreg is still in a bad state, air vehicle lock-on is insanely bugged (shooting at Nightbird or Jet often leads to your rocket hoolahooping around them and then disappearing), Boris turret sometimes one frame kills you from further than their max distance, Discarded regularly has a bug where an enemy player character model freezes and teleports, ADS often gets disabled after exiting a vehicle, the game sometimes spawns you on a squadmate that is actively being shot at, Bolte sometimes roadkills you from long distance.

Those are the ones off the top of my head. The game runs decently for the most part, but it's insanely unpolished right now.

Nothing new for DICE. The people who decided it should be a hero shooter stayed on the 2042 dev team and the rest branched off to learn from the lesson. I bet everyone on the bf42 project won't get called back after they finish the life cycle.

It is supposed to loop around, birds are harder to lock and hit. It is what counters attack helos in the air despite the attack helo being weak to everything.

Im actually sick of how good everything is compared to the attack helo. The attack helo rockets blow for the rocket launcher being a one hit. (Dont ask me how a rocket launcher suddenly has the ability to lock on.)

IGLA would be the best comparison and that was two hit

plus, spending 18 months on a developmental engine build for the game to start in the first place, as to even supply the features of portal and 128 players, is pretty important

if i want to take your analogy from earlier, i would say, "you don't necessarily need shoes to run, but you do need legs"
legs in this case being the ability to even make this game, the engine. the shoes, while helpful, are things that can come later.
