I mean you can always run ammo or something, that or play the tank hunter role, which has been Assault’s sole role for years now.

Mackay is perfect for hitting enemies from angles they’ll never expect, the mobility is near unmatched making it excellent for playing that aggro role

Angel can give armor as his skill as well as spawning an ammot crate on which you can change your loadout on top of getting your whole ammo back

And what use is to kill anyone when your team is only holding one objective, you are bleeding tickets and on top of that you cannot keep them from losing more because you cannot revive

Kills support the bleedout, but playing something that can easilly hold and objective by itself is much more useful in the longrun

It allows you to reach rooftops or windows many enemies would never expect you to attack from. Take D on Renewal for example. Instead of slogging through the front door, hooking up to the rooftop or in through the side window on D1 is a great way to hit enemies before they know what’s hit them.

Mackay is a great offensive role, though you are correct he doesn’t have much to offer defensively.

If you wanna play that aggro, use paik, and use ammo bags on her, she can see the enemies ahead

Paik loses the element of surprise by alerting enemies when they’ve been spotted. Mackay is still better for that.

I think we just have very different play styles. I’m an aggressive player most of the time, so I’m usually trying to take objectives or counterattack enemies taking ours, where mobility comes in handy very often.

I rush objectives very often, being able to place cover and use corners as holdout points helps to take a lot more than just running to a window and hoping they are not facefronting you

You make it sound like I’m just blindly running in. I’m actively looking for alternative angles to hit the enemy from instead of trying to knock down the front door generally.

Flanking the enemy is a great way to help speed up a capture.

I mean if we make that an inevitability, in that very specific instance, than yes. Thing is...one, that's not always the case, there isn't guaranteed to be a turret there. Two, there's always the option of shooting the turret, which isn't hard to do.

If we bring up very specific instances where I have every disadvantage, then yes, Mackay is useless. In the average fluid match though, I find it is rarely an issue.

Avoiding a turret is as simple as taking cover. Thats also where mackay helps. Turret blocking one way? Bypass it by going a different route inaccessible to other players and take it out (or the operator) from behind.

I personally am rarely killed 1v1 by a turret

The thing is that those entrances can be reached either way with any operator most of the time

Not easily though. Take that overpass connecting D1 and D2 on the front side of that building. No one is going to expect someone originally in that overpass to suddenly hit them from the rooftop skylight above D1 a few seconds later unless they specifically see me going up there. Yes, other players can get up there, but they have to climb up a slow and VERY exposed ladder to get there, as opposed to a couple seconds of grappling.

And some places dont even have said advantages and are highly contested

Then I don't use those places, or use the element of surprise to try and break the contest quickly

Like the whole A-D run on the left side of the map, that place has like no place where the hook is of use

Rooftops, B, C and D in kaidoscope dont have those advantages either, the only way is up with the elevators

Even on the same Renewal, is only of use in D, the res tof the map is pretty plain

There certainly are places where the hook is less useful than others, but the mark of a good player is one who understands the strengths and weaknesses of their loadout and does the best they can to maximize using their strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

If a lot of a map is open, my goal becomes to utilize urban or tighter areas as much as possible to force enemies to play by my rules, not the other way around

you have to kill with a specific weapon to unlock the related attachments; for instance I'm S005 now and never used the PBX (maybe a couple of times at the beginning), I just started yesterday to use it and little by little I'm unlocking its attachments.
doesn't matter if you have 100000000 kills, if you use only a weapon you can't unlock the attachments for all the other weapons

Im currently playing battlefield 2042 at 2am. The first half of the match was smooth, then it suddenly started lagging like crazy, i had like 336 ping and its 2am no one else on the house is using internet

I think the following needs to be considered:

*Make Hazard Zone Free or kill it off, its another "Firestorm", doesn't belong in the Battlefield Series and continuing it on will only take resources..

*Remove AoW from the menu - joining a new "instance" each time sucks.. also creates issues for those in lower player population areas

*Make Portal the main mode

*Create official servers hosting a range of CQ, Breakthrough, Rush, TDM and make them joinable through the Portal server browser in a tab called "Official"

*Add the weapons from BC2 and BF3 into the main game, we are still seeing weapons from 20+ years ago used in conflicts, so I think these can still fit into the 2042 era, keep the 1942 weapons for that mode only.

*Create a "custom games" tab where people can host their own - place limits on XP to avoid abuse etc..

*Bring back the RSP so that clans and communities can form properly - add a "community servers" tab for these, or at the very least have an option for portal experiences to be kept alive for 24hrs before closing (can sit on 0 players etc)

1. firestorm and hz are very different, hz isnt a battle royale, and i also personally dont think it should be spotlighted so much, i think it is an interesting concept and fits with lore
2. im not too sure what AoW stands for, but by the context of that im assuming its related to the auto matchmake after games, for this i think they should add back the concept from earlier, where it was a quit button, that didnt match make, and you could have both continue and quit, quit would not match make and continue would, i also think that the match making rather than preserved session is good because it mixes who you're playing with, if you want to play with the same bunch, play portal
3. portal should be separate because of its differing content and experience, the main game is purely for 2042 related stuff, and progression differs based on the portal game you are playing, i think it would get too cluttered if it was in the same menu, not sure how they would integrate it smoothly
4. they already have that on the scroll bar on the main portal page, they have a list of official servers that you can join that includes rush, hardcore conquest, and others you mentioned
5. i dont think that the lack of guns in the main game is much an issue, plus its supposed to be an out of modern game, and using the same weapons from now just feels lazy, and while yes we are using weapons from 30+ years ago still today, there are companies like SIG Sauer, Textron, etc that are making weapons like the M17 that was only put into service in 2017... tl;dr: you cant predict the changes that may come, and the game should stay open to creative opportunities
6. portal has the ability to host your own game already....
7. i agree with the functionality of clans, i did enjoy that, but idk about dedicated servers for individual clans, and especially not them getting dedicated runtime for long durations

You cant make the land areas too big becuase then the boats cant interact with infantry well
