Can't really blame the players for not being willing to support them, when the game did in fact release in a very sad state. I played every game since 1942, and while each game has had problems, most of those games were supported with new content as well as bug fixes. It's now been over 4 months, not a single new piece of content (skins don't count). Other BF games had entire DLCs released at this point in their lifetime.

Don't have to account for any of those things. For starters: They had multiple dev teams working on the game, with one team working on Hazard Zone specifically. "All Out Warfare" is the core DICE team, just as it always has been for past games involving Conquest, Rush etc.

Second, they stated during the development that they were several months ahead of development time, yet they decided to delay the game by 1 month. If it was ahead of schedule, why delay hmm??? And despite the delay, the game was... not good, at launch. And lacked several "core" features, which they flippantly shrugged off as "legacy". Only due to the vocal minority, did we get one of those legacy things back... 20 years of developing Battlefield games, each with their own scoreboard. Yet for some reason, they found it necessary to have to build a new scoreboard from scratch (and it's still incomplete)

2042 is visually, a lot worse looking than either BF1 or BFV which are older games. It has a lot worse performance than either of those games, and performance should be priority #1 prior to, or just following launch. Add to that, the laundry list of missing features. The sub-par map designs. Lack of cover on many of those maps, no stationary guns etc.

I seem to recall this to be true. I suspect much of the performance issues in the game is due to the increase to 128 player maximum. The limited-time 64 player modes, perform a lot better.

Even still, the game is a lot less visually impressive than some of it's previous titles. Physics on vehicles are largely non-existent. BF4 tanks "felt" like tanks in their movement. 2042 tanks feel like they'd be blown off the road by a slight breeze.

That definitely happens at times.. I find that in Breakthrough, for example, by the second base it's mostly populated. It takes time but you can usually feel when the vibe in the server changes away from AI

That could be an interesting update at some point where the conclusion of a match doesn't push you into matchmaking again. Instead you stay in that server while the map rotates.

I’m not dev bashing or anything, but allowing them to just use old assets as an excuse is wrong and sad that we’re ok with that. Has this ever happened in an old bf game? No, no it hasn’t. No offense but it’s their job to provide new content and to fix the game. Adding old content is wrong and shouldn’t happen. We all payed 60-120 bucks for a NEW game, not a game full of reused assets and a little bit of new content.

I think the game needs a few adjustments and tweaks to be where I want it, but overall it's one of the best shooters I've played in years. I'm lucky enough to not have performance issues on my PC.

I can see why a lot of longtime fans have issues with some of the changes (I personally like the changes) but Portal should have something for everyone. All 3 games in Portal rn play amazingly.

There's a few misc bugs that still need patching out, and if performance is truly as bad for some people as I hear, it needs fixing, but I'm enjoying myself over 200 hours in.

It can be fun if youre on a roll but the game has enough massive problems that given enough time or enough bad luck it will drive you mad. The game will never be fixed because it died soon after release and now it will always be bad and dying because it isnt worth it for them to fix it now. Loadout resets, the fact Boris is in the game, unbalanced guns, unbalanced vehicles (particularly the Bolte), bad mouse input on PC, lack of content, a dead playerbase making you play with AI, maps that are way too open with no cover, large maps with tons of walking to get any actions, etc. etc. etc. make it very frustrating to play and I have little faith anymore that they'll fix it. So if you're lucky then it's fine for a short time but Id say I alt+f4 half the time these days because it's all very infuriating
