yeah i think the scoreboard is mostly for validation. A lot of people want to get feedback on how they're doing and scoreboards instantly reflect that. I also use scoreboard a lot to see who's doing what cuz if a guy has 100 kills, he's someone I might wanna learn from. But i've also used it as like "oh this guy has 100k, I'm gonna figure out where he is and end his killstreak"

Played a portal round against one other player and I started to feel bad that I kept killing him over and over.

A guy with 100 kills, took 100 tickets from the other team, a guy with 10 captures took 100 tickets from the other team plus all the kills he might have got (which I assume is a lot since 10 captures is no small feat) took way more tickets in a fraction of the time, he might have even helped your team stablish Majority, which is constantly draining the other team
A guy with 20 revives and a few captures is even more useful, not only he took tickets from the other team, he kept your team's from getting lower, that is the people you wanna learn from, people that goes after K/D are cod kiddies that quit the game after Y1

imo, the community hasnt learned. we've seen similar issues before, and it has been inflated with the last few games causing actual issues
