Theres many different IPs that specialise in their own thing, some copying from each other. EA/DICE decided to take a lot from Apex and other BR games only because 'theyre successful' and 'most likely bring money in'. But during development did they ever stop and think 'would this actually work for a battlefield game?' or 'do the players even want this?'. it almost seems like they built their own opinion on the game and went with it, and if we disagree then 'we the players are wrong'.
