I've been playing the franchise since 4 had somewhat of a competitive scene. The main thing that bothers me in 2042 is just the complete lack of content and some balancing issues. But honestly I keep coming back because the movement feels clean as hell. I don't really see the big deal about specialists other than people being aristocratic and just against change, since each one of them still basically fills a class role with more freedom on weapon choice and gadgets which is fine imo. My experience with the 64 player version hasn't been too buggy but what has been there isn't too detrimental besides like spawning with guns broken or getting of out a vehicle like that amongst only little things.
