The problem isn’t that 2042 has no destruction, or bad destruction. It’s just that maps are filled with copy/paste little buildings. They should be! But they aren’t.

That’s why when you play on a map like Arica Harbor, you can collapse every single building just like BC2.

When I'm thinking of Dynamic destruction, I'm thinking of destruction that affects the decision making when playing your char, vs just running point to point behind every tree. Like, can I run through this building because all the walls have been blown out, can I create another entry point, do I have to adjust where I'm looking because a possible threat is now capable of coming from a different direction, etc

Well, most destruction in the game can be considered dynamic depending on how you look at it. But, a way I see being able to use the term "more dynamic" is that if things get destroyed in different ways depending on how you damage them - so a tank and a rifle would leave different holes in a fence and those holes could look different depending on the angle of the shot.
