They are definitely riding on the sports licensing right now and playing off the revenue generation from their titles that generate interest through actual gameplay as insignificant. Which is clearly out of tune, everyone knows NFL Fever 2002 was an actually good football game for example. Apex doesn't have the prominence that battlefield has in their respective genres and battlefield has a lot more or less potential moving forward. NFL is pretty scripted right now but I don't see them able to secure a truly profitable licensing agreement with exclusivity for the long term. They should focus on making the games that they have IP rights.

I think it's more of whatever Developers slid into the battlefield development decision. EA wouldn't really understand that, it's more of I have references for these studios to get this plan into action; and It's more indicative of the poor state of the industry when it comes to software development than EA's fault. Although they should be vetting people better, like they have a ESL 5v5 battlefield player employed and that really has nothing to do with the game battlefield.

if you're waiting for a complete turn around from what the game is and what it could be come summer, don't get your hopes up. They don't have the intellectual capacity to continue, obviously you won't see much changes as far as infantry mechanics... we'd be lucky if they can figure out the options let alone FOV and recoil. I don't think the game is at all bad but it is what it is and that's not going to change much. If they put more maps into the rotation that's the best you could hope for.

Apache is a lot heavier feeling than the Alligator... and with 78 vehicle sensitivity feels pretty good for the chopper. You can obviously just adjust your settings and get a different chopper which makes no sense.

No mod support or theater mode killed massive, thriving parts of the community. The removal of a lot of teamplay or depth adding features killed comp. And the game focused more on small maps and a linear campaign

BF2 gameplay is more preserved in games like Squad which was a spin-off of project reality a BF2 mod. So you can argue that BF2 still has a following it's just that historically those players weren't as talented at Battlefield than the closer to main-line players.

Pretty sure they work the same way in a game flow perspective. In BF2 you spawn on your squad leader, commander can give squad orders to orient the squad for objectives. Everything is slower and there are larger maps in Squad, and i'm pretty sure the objectives are dynamically set up by the opposing team instead of flags in battlefield. It's a milsim fan game and most of the stuff I wouldn't consider meta anyway for it being proposed mil-sim and I'm not a proponent of that method of achieving victory so we can argue about it you won't win.

I think there should have been a bit more stamina but it was a cool system that made sprinting an interesting choice rather than "oh if im not shooting I should sprint"

I found how much better I was then, and it's not going to be a difference now, I'm OG'd, and definitely not going to be a difference now because people are much worse at the game than before. Not like you're going to jump in my server and chat to me respawning it would be embarrasing. I played at the highest level of the game, without the quality of the player pool, and it took a massive amount of talent search to compete with me. And there are guys that were not playing faithfully in it.

I said Battlefield 2 was played competitively by service members pre-joining, current, and post and we competed against teams comprised of members in the armed forces all the way into BF4.

If you don't understand how to win shoot the enemy or ignore it, it would be a load of shit to say it didn't effect the modernization, modernization is an enlightenment... and truth be told anything peer to peer hasn't been metal tested and a whole lot of lets be friends with enemies seems to be a prevalent theme right now among people chatting, when you're not ready to reverse the situation.
