Well... what do you expect? They reskinned Battlefront with BF1, they COMPLETELY jacked up all the everything with it. BUT, they did fix most of the major concerns like control schemes and such. I don't agree that BF4s was worse, tbh. Specifically long term. In terms of playability, sure, 2042 is better in that regard (Albeit not on last gen. I'm personally experiencing very similar issues to BF4.) BF4 had a great chance at recovering though and was pretty much guaranteed to. It had loads of income from premium, it had loads of content and the gameplay was really solid and people appreciated it, the maps weren't too bad, either. So it could recover much quicker.

This is the complete opposite for 2042. It has technical issues, little new content, dozens and dozens of basic features missing, downgraded visuals and animations, and so on. The recovery process will be MUCH more difficult and it's chances are very slim. That makes it much, much, worse imo.

It's not really a fair comparison because of how vastly different this launch is to older games. We have not had a launch this severe in terms of long term survival and the foundation being this hollow.

BF4 and BFV both had great bases, decent content (BF4 had loads of content ofc), and great improvements (BF4 not as much in this regard) to gameplay.

This is missing so many basic things, nearly every aspect of the game is downgraded or with zero thought put into it, the maps are pretty much all flawed in a way that's not going to recover the way panzerstorm could, etc.
