Ultimately I understand the anger, and people appreciate feeling heard. However it’s easy to forget that there’s real people on the receiving end, and they (devs, for example) can be adversely affected when feedback turns into ad hominem.

So I think the feedback is very valid, 2042 has its problems. But perhaps the approach from the loud minority isn’t always the best, and I think that can distract from the community message.

For example, I enjoy reading breakdown posts that highlight (with examples) what people feel is in need of improvement. Especially if there’s suggestions on how to do something better. However, when posts get less constructive and delve into finger pointing, name calling, or what have you — it becomes more likely that community sentiment gets muddied and we don’t always get the right message and see direct changes in the project itself.

I’m not a community manager though so I’m not sure how to better bridge the gap between players and the studios working on the game - I do wish that it was easier to go through feedback without being burned out by the other side of what we see online.
