I think you bring up a great point, but I challenge you on something. Why do you think c5 drones are being used? In my opinion it's because there's such a lack of artillery options/options to deal with vehicles. We need more options like mortars, more launchers, more devices, etc.

The class system forced people to play more like a team (not generally on public servers, but more so than 2042 does currently), the maps we're designed in a much more thoughtful way, the game had way more weapons on launch as well. Also not everyone was a jack-of-all-trades due to the way the class system functions.

Like I mentioned earlier the trend is the game has lost a ton of players (on Steam) since release. That is also reflective of the situation on other platforms. I hear Xbox is having more and more issues filling up lobbies.
