The major problem with 2042 maps to me is the fact that they are not designed at all for infantry combat, the game doesn't have that infantry/vehicle mix we had with BF3 and BF4 and it looks like it won't change now as the next map looks like one of the most open we have never seen

I loved the class system because it had interesting trade offs. If u wanted to support your team and be a medic, u would have to sacrifice long range capability and anti-armor stuff. With specialists...there are no tradeoffs. You arent punished for playing Falck, having a sniper, and an ammo crate. And therefore you can be a recon, medic, and support all in one, and u can camp the entire game without making contact with a single teammate.

How i would have done specialists is to keep the classes, yet have restricted and universal weapons. Ex. The support would have the lmgs locked to them, yet they would have shotguns, dmrs, and carbines available, similar to how the classes worked in bf4. And then you would have the class roles, which are the specialists abilites, For example, for assualt you would have the wingsuit and grapple hook as role definers for that class, and etc for the rest of the classes
