in most settings other than ranked where only winning matters, you likely get a sbmm based on an elo system, where if you kill a guy that is above your skill level you get 100 points, if you kill someone your skill level you get 50 points, if you die to someone severely below your skill level you lose 150 points, and over many hours of gameplay you start to average out at a sbmm

Right now the best areas on each map are the denser areas. The refinery facilities at A sector on Breakaway, the C-D sector ship on Discarded, the Stadium and Village on Hourglass, most of Manifest in general, the Data Center on kaleidoscope, the research facility and border facility on renewal, and the D sector flags under the tower on Orbital. What that tells me is that close quarters should absolutely be a priority going forward

It’s not like those areas are the only playable areas IMO, I still have fun on most of the maps as a whole. Given that you can call in vehicles, wider areas can be easily traversed if need be, and if not, there’s ways to traverse without having to run exclusively in the open.

Exactly, those maps have downright incredible spaces to play in, that really just show me the potential. I think the map design team is still figuring out this dynamic just like the player base is. Eventually there’s a good chance they’ll catch on, map design should really only improve from here.

Portal drives me nuts man, like the idea of it drives me crazy. They made the coolest Server customization a possibility in the history of BF, but they didn’t bring back Player owned servers. With that customization, even with the server restrictions I mentioned, Portal could be a gateway to very interesting match-types and rule customization.

And then they added the XP cap…. Whether or not it’s true that you still gain a normal amount of XP even with the cap…. That HURT portal’s playerbase 100%.

To this day, I still see people that don’t think the featured Portal modes give you Ribbon XP, and have an overall cap. Adding that XP cap made everything confusing and hard to process for the mass public that wants to do no more than play the game. (All because they allowed Bot Farming to be a possibility)

And to top it off, enter “Of Ages”, seems great at first, but then, it clicks. All that is, is the original Portal Playlist, but shoved into a single rotation, with no way to chose what you want to play.

It’s the same thing as before with less options, marketing itself as an entirely new thing …

Because when they collapse, in 2042, they lay in a ruin. The same way they did in BC2/BF3/BF4. As opposed to BF1 and BFV where you can destroy almost every bit of the building, and all the damage would disappear leaving just the bits of the building you cannot destroy.

The only caveat to this is the buildings in the Russian DLC which added “debris” when you broke the roofs.
