I know that people need the guard rails that linear map constraints funneled into two objectives to make them feel comfortable. And there are safe comfy modes called rush and breakthrough for those looking to keep it simple with the enemy in an obvious and simplified front. but battlefield is dynamic and appeals to many tastes. Thats where conquest shines for those that prefer a dynamic and ever changing battlefield, with flanks, back caps, assualt/defend of points, its where battlefield started, and where those of us with a refined palette like to sink our time refining our skills to dominate the rush/breakthrough modes, against the more shall we say, simpler minds.

Ratings should be based on objectivity, because video games are a product. Whether or not you enjoy a game is entirely subjective and unique to your own self. I really like 2042. I think it has massive potential. It’s fun to play. I enjoy the maps for the most part. Gunplay feels good (especially after 3.1) (now if only they would properly fix aim assist.) The game looks stunning at times. Portal is a lot of fun, and I haven’t touched HZ enough to give an honest opinion.

That said, it is lacking in the content department. Some of the legacy bugs drive me crazy. Even on console performance can tank massively and has gotten me killed many times. Transport vehicles are still a little ridiculous. Medics are oblivious. Some “legacy” features missing is a real let down.

But overall, I still just want to play the game. And that’s all I care about.

The flip side to that coin, is that many of the "qualified reviewers" have some level of risk involved with giving a AAA title an actual review if it is going to be deeply negative in nature. Many of these reviewers are sponsored, or their employers are sponsored by the very people who are producing/publishing the game. This was clearly demonstrated and called out by many in the battlefield community at launch as some of the popular long time bf youtubers were giving soft reviews that were glossing over the absurd broken state of the game
