128 players in and of itself is not a bad idea. Planetside 2 plays fine and routinely has more involved in any given battle. The problem is these maps are designed very poorly for it (too big, little cover, no zoning to kinda separate engagements) and the vehicle balance is borked, making infantry play a nightmare on pretty much everything except a few select places on the maps or Manifest

agreed I dont think the problem is 128 players I think it's the map design overall, they made the maps too spacious and open which in the end did not work out. I undersatnd why they did it but it just doesnt work. Imagine Rotterdam or Ardenne forest or Iwo jima etc with 128 players. I think that would work.

Halo feels very good right now I've only been playing for a few days, also Vanguard feels very good. Cold War was good, too. I love games that feel good to just move around and shoot. It's like having a really good pen you like, and clicking it over and over because it's so satisfying. That's what I appreciate about those games is when they are so smooth and consistant like that, you develop a stronger connection to the mechanics and the skill ceiling can get higher because of it.

As I said before the size is barely the problem, the problem is how POIs are sectored across the map. Usually there is obstruction of sightlines or height variance that define combat zones on a map. In this game, most of the map overviews are incredibly flat with really wide sightlines... with little to no cover.
