To 2042's credit, a lot of the complaints about the game's maps feeling empty and needing to walk across empty spaces, do show that 2042's map philosophy has gone back to those older BF games a bit more. Like I said, classic BF games were more along those lines.

I think the biggest thing is: more civilian vehicles that spawn AT bases in-world. I keep bringing up BF2 as an example. BF2 had TONS of open spaces and long treks (even longer than 2042 perhaps) but there were always a handful of vehicles that spawned in AT bases when you controlled them

I think in all for 2042: it sold enough at launch to have a meaningful playerbase that will ocassionally check it out. if DICE does a good job supporting it: more frequent releases and QoL releases like Update 3, and then meaningful content updates and stuff to go for in seasons, I think it will do well.

If the support isn't there and DICE slows down on content or QoL updates, I can see the game's life shortening as others have said

Just listened to the bf2042 soundtrack on Spotify. Has to be my favourite soundtrack in a video game since death stranding. So like 3 years till something this good. right now right, i figured out, you take two guys, one running angel, one running falk, both of them gets an assualt rifle and the magum with the 4x, one has the syrette pistol, other has the ammo crate, both have anti vehicle, one having c5 or recoiless, other having the aa launcher, both can revive, and each of them still has one throwables slot free, you can basically have an entire previous game's squad's utility with two guys in this one, lmao

It did lose nearly 50% of its player base in a week! It's no surprise really. Who tweeted that the game was heading more towards a warzone/BR style game? I mean if its true, it will kill this franchise for good.
