This is the same thing as BFV, everyone bought it, most stopped playing it except a consistent number of people. (say, 100k bought, 30k play until next game comes out. Majority have stopped but there will always be a niche amount of people that like the new game. the game isnt "dying" per se, but it is declining in popularity due to many bugs and being rushed.

There’s things in BF4 that weren’t the same in BF3, and it only added features, it took none away. Commander Mode, Diving, leaning, Counter-knifing, working Elevators, levelution. They added a lot of stuff compared to how it was in BF3. I prefer the look of BF3’s art style, with the very saturated lighting effects, But honestly, it’s not for everybody, most people find it obnoxious. Frostbite 3 has waayyy less Bloom than Frostbite 2, and even the character animations had significant improvement from BF3 to 4. I do like 2042, but I can’t deny the lack of progression compared to past entries, I don’t notice my character and gun getting completely filthy from the environment like in BF5, and the character’s don’t have that realistic stumbling animation either

Man, The BF2 formula was so good, Why did they have to abandon it? The BF2 formula is what caused BC2 to make BC1 irrelevant as a multiplayer game.
