People can dislike a game, but just because you dislike the game doesn't mean the game is trash because you dislike the fact that classes were replaced for specialists and they choose not to add a scoreboard. Which aside from bugs and optimization are the main things people complain about.

-Scoreboard not being there has literally no effect on gameplay

-Main reason people say they dislike specialists is because it kills teamplay, which it doesnt. Randoms rarely work together anyways and premades can still take the required gadgets despite specialists. It's people that are nostalgic and just dislike the fact that you can choose someone with an ability and have more loadout freedom.

Specialist isnt the main complaint. theres a long list inside things that have nothing to do with specialists and everything to do from Lack of depth in movement mechanics, the horrible maps, the horrible gunplay and damage balancing. The overtuned vehicles which is a product of the terrible maps. a ton of missing features and so on and so forth.

You can have fun and enjoy the game, but they can still call the game trash. You don't need to agree with their opinion that the game is trash, but they can certainly have that opinion.

I'm saying that calling a game trash because of your opinion is extremely subjective. And the majority of reasoning for why that opinion is what it is is stuff that will be fixed or a dislike of a mechanic that most people can't give a solid reason for why they dislike it other than it's different. And the argument that maps are horrible because they favor long range engagement over cqc isn't something that's exclusive to this battlefield but people make it out as such. And the whole reason maps are divided into sectors is to encourage both forms of engagement.

I actually quite like the specialist system as I find it adds depth to teamwork whereas most people dislike it as it doesn't force randoms to do what they prolly aren't going to do anyways. I like the attachment modification system while you're alive. I like the fact that the lobbies are significantly larger than previous battlefields. I like that they returned to common/slightly futuristic era instead of a previous world war. I like the guns albiet there should be more in the 2042 modes (Which crazy idea, they could still add some with seasons later). I could go on.

The bugs need to be fixed. The performance for PC players needs to be focused on. They do need to rehaul the mechanics in a few places to better smooth out the gameplay. But stating the foundations of the game are bad is astounding to me and based purely on subjective viewpoints of such mechanics.

the damage drop off range is abysmal, the gun damage is low in general even though theres armor in the game. The maps are way too big and open so it becomes a vehicle farm fest. There's no difference really between the maps because they all flow the same way. When infantry get lucky enough to be on a map like kaleidoscope where vehicles cant reach them inside the building they funnel up an elevator and die to a bunch of people camping.

The design is simply horrible, it feels untested, unfinished and thats just talking about one of the collections of problems that is completely disconnected from the movement mechanics and feel of the game. Every battlefield game has had maps where i could carry the same gun throughout the game and find uses for it no matter where i am based on how I position myself or how i close the gap, you can no do that in BF2042. the maps are much too open and spacious to be able to find any sort of flank workaround without being killed (Unless you 100% just play sundance so you can wingsuit) which people still see anyways so its not any sort of element of surprise. theres so much wrong with the game but everyone keeps acting like the only thing people complain about is "specialists and bugs" theres a lot of things wrong with this game that simply aren't fixable without an entire overhaul of the game, which will simply not happen.
