I think one of the reasons that amplified the hate for Sundance's character is just the fact that they can't brush it off with "Well, the game is good, the character is likeable" There aren't really much seen likeable qualities for each Specialists either when they go "I am not overconfident, I'm just better than you", something that went wrong with the meet the specialists series was just that there was not really much proper introduction to their personalities, it showcased important abilities and junk but not the person you're playing as. There are blog post backstories too but I'm pretty sure not everyone is here to read em and all that junk, they're here to game and watch. Watching the war veteran granny who's looking for her son talking about how "the healing is not as rewarding as the hurting" just feels off.

I think Battlefield 2042 needs more time instead of immediately moving to 2023's Battlefield title to make a fresh start and better first impression
everything we have now is broken but it could work with a bit more development of gameplay, characters, lore and all that stuff along with more choices with how you want to play and what you want to play as. What happened to 10 clan battle Friday nights? What happened to the days of making fun of people that only played in public rooms? What happened to the vote to kick system where 3/4 of your team could vote out a no-mic player? What happened to team-killing being in core mode? Portal mode is not the save all for clan support when we can't even switch to the squad we want in-game and we can't switch teams. Is that real? Why would you take that out? You missed hard, AGAIN. The disappointment has happened for a decade and a half, every time we hear a new BF is coming out we hope that you will do right for the OG's and we end up with the same disappointment. Having played since 1942 this game, for me, has been the biggest let down in the franchise. Some optimisation and general fixes may improve things but we are slowly moving towards a battle royale-esque blend of a game

I'm new to battlefield, bought bfV earlier this year when it was on sale on steam.

i think this is the best battlefield in a long time, different strokes for different folks. maps are notably lacking cover but its fun. Reminds me of playing Mag from back in the day
