They aren't, though. I like the game too and I got about 100 or so hours into it so far (gunna play more tomorrow when the patch hits), but that doesn't change the fact that there's so much shit that's different, and not all of it is in a good way. It's not entitlement, it's expecting some baseline features from a franchise that has existed for 20 years at this point.

I reach level S001 and tried all aspects of the game, when it works...it's a 4/10 and I'm being generous. Portal was the only saving grace which would have let us solve some of the bad design decisions in 2042. But DICE went ahead and stopped all progression on it, literally shot down the only thing that could have saved their game

I think one of the key reasons why EA's plan for 2042 didn't work out was because of the fact that people are no longer deceived by "modern gaming" strategies with cut content re-released per season and resold and were looking for something new beyond Call of Duty's factionless operators and Battle Royale games, they made a game to cater to an audience from a year ago.
