When everything points to Conquest and Rush, that's misleading in my opinion. This is quite literally why it was so popular to say "just do 2042 weapons witb bf3 classes" which we now know we can't do. The entire community was mislead, intentional or not.

Straatford adding to this only makes it more misleading. "Can we play with 2042 weapons, in a conquest match, with BF3 classes?" "Straatford: Yes, in Portal you can mix and match.", if that trailer isn't being misleading, then I guess he isn't either.

The scope of 2042 is already way bigger than bf4 can handle. Just the size of the maps in general alone. The devs consider all 3 modes a main part of the 2042 experience all in one. BF4 doesn’t really “smack” anything. I won’t even get into how the gunplay is already leagues ahead and movement is mechanically more stable and not as exploitable. There’s so many elements to 2042 that already has gone above most BF games. It’s not as mechanically deep as some of the previous, but it’s far ahead in its own way

First of I'm judging the amount of weapons being in the base game.
You're pulling a whataboutism here my friend. Nobody including myself is saying the movement is better or worse.
I am criticizing the weapons being available in the base game which currently are so miniscule in comparison to BF4.

If Portal is gonna have 50+ more weapons and through 3 different eras and supposedly we won't be paying for it and will be added freely.
Then its an absolutely win. But if 2042 the main game, the base game which is suppose to have a battlepass system which they will lock weapons behind.
Then what is the purpose of paying for the gamepass when Portal will have all of the weapons and more than the base game could ever hope to pump out?

Its just ridiculous especially when you compare it to BF4 when it came out. It had 76 base weapons all of which came in the price tag of 60 dollars.
Now you are paying 60 dollars for 22 weapons for the base game and 50 weapons coming from portal.

Thing is some of them bleed into irrelevancy due to just not keeping up. I can see wanting more weapons to work with and I’m for that but they also probably had just these weapons in mind for now and then expand out the weapon releases over time, without being repetitive. Let’s be honest, a lot of weapons have simply just adopted M4 and AK body designs and fire the same calibers etc. you’re firing more guns that reality do some of the same things with some of the same looks. Best options is to find all the unique stuff and plan it out accordingly
