As I said I think it’s purely for cosmetics sake. I mean if someone made a portal mode with bf3 classes and all 2042 weapons + vehicles, that would be the mode everyone plays who hates specialists. Therefore dice can’t capitalise on selling skins because nobody plays as specialists

The thing about faction locking content, isn't even just about specialists and who wants to use them and who doesn't. It literally gives you more things to play with to have it unlocked. More jets, more tanks, more helis, more weapons. This is why it's so important to have it unlocked and not locked to faction.
