BF scarcely does remakes at all, 2042 might actually be the highest number of remakes in a single game in franchise history, which comes with its own asterisk since these Portal remakes are 1) for their own mode specifically designed to provide new experiences when combined with newer content and 2) are complete and total revamps of maps that will provide entirely new experiences to their original counterparts.

Look at stuff like the Raid remake on Cold War, its genuinely the same map spot for spot as far as I'm aware. Almost identical styling, identical map layout. Then there's stuff in BFV like Wake Island, a map that has appeared in a great number of BF games. BFV's Wake Island is a good deal larger than its previous iterations and features an entirely unique layout that follows a somewhat similar general pattern that clearly harkens back to older renditions while still being distinctly unique.

The campaign was brilliant, zombies was on point, multiplayer was super fast paced with great ads speeds, perfect ttk, maps were amazing, (standoff ftw) and I played it a lot with my first gf so good memories with that too.

@wide shore the weapons were so janky to me though... The only thing i actually thought wasnt bad was the new sound of grenade explosions. I absolutely hate any and all forms of zombies game modes so that can go fuck right off and the maps were too cluttered i felt. Im a tactical player i like to move, plan engage accordingly not just brain numbing run and gun...
