It comes down how the VO is performed and the tone that was set up with Exodus. BF3 was aggressive, there was anger and fear behind it, it felt real. The way "whaaahoo" and other voicelines were performed feels like excitement, joy, like the character is genuinely having joyful fun in this battle. It's immersion breaking, and it contradicts the tone.

But comparing them is kinda silly anyway I guess, because we have an established world and tone for 2042. Comparisons should be made towards that.
