Asking a person a question on whether an engine is hard to work with...is like asking them if a coding language is hard to work with (EG...C++ vs C#). Ease of use with almost everything is largely down to preference and familiarity

It is, it's notoriously tedious imo. Source 2s hammer editor solved nearly every issue with it though, and imo, is the best semi-public level editor you can get. Especially the real time physics simulations, hoo boy that's my favorite feature hands down lol. Rigging cloth in Source Hammer Editor is a nightmare.

Unity has its purposes. I feel like most devs have their own opinions. I will almost always prefer unreal of unity, I just feel like it's easier to make a prototype or similar in unreal. But Unity has its advantages. It mostly comes down to what you're making I think.
