BF 2042 definitely lost the touch previous games had. Especially in the immersion (Animations, details, art style) department for this game. I can't figure out why you guys intentionally downgraded the movement & environmental destruction system into what it is. Same with how basic animations are now. It just looks so, cheaply made. Basics (most of them) which should be present in all bf games were missing in BETA, I am not sure how much of magic we can expect in 5 weeks until launch

As much as I hate to consider it, it is true. Games, or any media for that matter, will absorb some of the popular aspects of the most popular things around the time of their development. But, the amount it keeps happening and the degrees it does is worrying. Even CoD, the most generic game from genericville, had its own unique gameplay attributes, designs, and atmosphere. Heres what I thought of the 2042 beta as sorta a battlefield rookie.
Gunplay was okay imo. But the problem was the melee was dysfunctional. The whole not being able to open large map thing was annoyin' as hell, and objectives should always appear when looking around, and on the edge of the screen with arrows so its harder to walk tank first into the enemy spawn because u got lost. Also littlebird supremacy.

honestly feels like they just ditched all original key traits of all previous successful battlefield games just for "better" movement and specialists while trying to appeal to whatever part of this playerbase wanted exactly that to happen and called it a day.
Like 3d spotting, crispy vehicle and air drive/flight models, classes and the linked teamplay and unique customization in combination with the core gameplay, the Commo Rose, the Commander, Gone, for "steroids" .
All what made Battlefield Battlefield and outstanding compared to arcadey or more realistic FPS shooters like Call of Duty or Arma was ditched for literally no clear reason, and i am absolutely buttered by how they managed to pull this off so seamlessly and even get support from supposed "veteran" players in this community who prolly haven't even touched BF2 if i'd look at their statements all across social media how they are hyped for 2042.

I can't re-explain properly so I'll have to quote myself again, sorry in advance: "Converting Assault into a sole damage dealer, designed to deal with infantry fast and vehicles faster, did make it so that, if you saw someone playing Medic, you would be more often right than wrong in waiting for the revive or healing as they wouldn't of chosen Medic to just kill with, as Assault and Support were both better equipped to do so and you could run over to the health box if there were hogging it for themselves. This is unlike BF4 because you couldn't rely on the fact that someone who was playing Assault was going to revive you as it was the starter, all-round class that everyone has used at some point or another, which has a very strong aptitude for dealing with opponents, drawing in the more selfish/kill hungry to the class which was the only one that could heal and revive. Despite this, however, it created a very strange, backwards effect. While you could rely on Medics to revive you 9 times out 10, there were far more people playing the more offensive and effective Assault class, and unless you were playing on a condensed map, a small amount good Medics weren't as effective as a large amount of mediocre Assaults with medical Equipment. Due to Assaults in BF4 having very effective primaries but having most of its gadgets being orientated around medical equipment, it resulted in people running at least one piece of healing, even if it was just to keep themselves alive, and then either the defibs to revive friendlies, or only one of the underslung weapons, as having 4 weapons, 2 being extremely situational, become more of a hindrance and a hassle than they were useful. This resulted in, although not as reliable, consistent levels of healing or reviving whenever in a match of BF4. "
