It had some issues but the 3d world spotting isn't the same as the likes of BF4.

You can't ping someone and light them up like a christmas tree for your entire team anymore.

The system itself was sound but the execution was off. The IRL basis for it was that high velocity rounds travel so fast that they don't get to tumble around and destroy innards the way that lower velocity projectiles do. But that's not why the system was implemented. Rather, it used that as inspiration so that the Sniper rifle didn't outclass short ranges weapons. Why use SMG or Shotgun if Sniper rifle is as good or at time superior.
