Yes, I think BF's point is not to be realistic, but to create an atmosphere that feels like a battlefield. BF5's vehicle enter/leave and revive animations, soldiers calling for help when downed, etc really helped with that.

True, but then again there are smoke grenades and it is kind of the point. If you stay behind cover, you will be easier to revive. More tactical I think. Running out into the open will get you killed AND make you difficult to revive.

The only thing I'd change in BF5 from an immersion standpoint is that I'd make vehicles first person only too. However, that could make them too difficult to control, which is likely why the devs added 3rd person for those.

There was this one spot on Laguna Presa conquest, I think it was overlooking the B flag (or whatever the plane crash flag was.) There was a cliff overlooking it, coming from I think the American spawn. A lot of people would go up there to snipe, but if you jumped over the edge, you could get into a tree. I used to do that all the time.

I think the main reason is that it was very difficult to tell in the beta who had health crates, who had ammo, etc because of the lack of class icons. IFF was also difficult because of the clone characters. These are the reasons for most of the specialist hate, as far as I understand.

I need to do the same with BFV, but I went and played BF1 and BF4 so see how it stacked up to 2042. I came away with mixed impressions, but mostly that BF4 holds up really well aside from gunplay, and that BF1 has a goat production value but the gunplay for non-snipers is pretty bad. I also forgot that a lot of the vehicles in BF1 (especially planes) are really fucking irritating lmao

I wish that there was some weapon restriction, BUT make it rather limited. You see, in BF4, each individual class had 4 different weapon types, one of which was exclusive to that class.
Ex.
Assualt = ARs
Engineer= PDWs
Support= LMG
Recon= Snipers
However, each class had 3 universal weapon types, which were DMRs, shotguns, and carbines. I would like to have a system similar to this in 2042 were basically each specialist had a unique weapon type that suits the "class", but certain weapon types were universal.

Im simply worried that there will be balancing issues later down the road when newer weapons are added, thats all
