im not saying its the coolest thing, but there's a thing in being a nameless soldier with a default skin, running around with Special Forces Rambo cool backstory soldiers with the same faces is just not immersive, it has sense for all players to have the same skins per class per team bc its the same team and same equipment. Specialist system doesnt belong in Battlefield, they should just add a BFV customization system, also specialists straight up destroy the class system that characterizes battlefield, with specialists you have a warzone and rainbow 6 hybrid as a game, not a true battlefield

I think it has to do with the fact orbital is a pretty landscape based map, it isnt like seige of shanghai where of course destructibility is very present due to building presence, it more of a caspian-border type map that focuses more on terrain and less on bulding spaces

Specialists are a new thing replacing the old school class system, which made BF stand apart from the competition. The class system was unique, and provided a really fun way to customize your soldier. Each class provided a way to express the way you wanted to play, as you could modify each class to fit your play style. However, the good part about that is you had to make sacrifices. If you wanted to play as a soldier that could rez/ med ppl, you would need to sacrifce long range capability, and the ability to take out heavy armor. It was also immersive, because you werent playing as a premade character, rather a unnamed grunt

There is nearly none of that with the specialists. There is no difference between specialists for every side. Ex. The Mackay for the US side looks the exact same as the Mackay for the RU side. It creates confusion. And the specilaist system allows for a bit too much freedom. Like you can use a sniper rifle, have a med kit, and have a specialist which is geared for the engineer class. There is no set classes in 2042, which makes it, at least imo, worse than what we have had before for the last decade or so

there is also one issue Im facing in the beta when I experienced it, like the capture points didnt have a big space, you know how in bf4, it highlights the dimensions of a sector, bf2042 doesnt do that and I feel like the capture points could become much bigger because it ends up being a complete hassle when the capture point is way too small and theres too many enemies
