Lots of places these days are looking for people with the ability to upskill also. For example, in my current job, I am also learning 3D modelling and area/character integration.

COVID isnt the only reason for the delay...the main reason is a government restriction on office spaces in Sweden, disallowing a studio like DICE from getting people back in their workspace (they have too many employees [600+] for them to feasibly return to offices while maintaining set guidelines).

Logistically, it is 10x harder to do a software launch when all of your devs have to externally upload code, changes, rather than just commit to master from the office

People also ask why BF is delayed, despite by their own admission they were given an extra year by EA to develop BF 2042.

The reason for this is also Swedish labor laws (A good thing), which disallows you from working more than 40 hours in a week. While many other studios around the world may be forced or paid handsomely to work more than this (Sometimes known as crunch) to get a game out the door, this thankfully is not an option at Dice Stockholm.

For example in 4A Studios, leading up to the release of Metro Exodus, their devs were basically forced to work for a year in crunch, doing upwards of 60 hours a week on the game.

ok, well movement is fine since it's litterally mw19. gunplay ttk is waaaay too low which causes smgs and ars to dominate and pretty much cripples you if you use anything else like the m1 garand. historical accurate loadouts are unusable, cause you need to upgrade your gun with wacky unww2 looking attachments and sights to make the gun viable against others. the guns also shoot off way too much particle effects like smoke and shit which makes it hard to track people while firing, while they can see you perfectly fine. then there's the map design which just lets people spawn in your back or litterally on you. the only map that has some room to breathe is eagle's nest. the others also have way too long sightlines that makes you pretty much fight where you spawn or die trying to move somewhere else due campers and shit. the lack of factions also makes acquiring targets a chore. there are times where you bump into an enemy and you both just run on not noticing you were enemies in the first place. it's just a clusterfuck during chaotic moments where you end up shooting at wrong targets cause the red doritoes don't show clearly during those fights and so on

well, after vanguard i'd say i'm a little bit worried about the lack of factions. i hope dice will solve that better than vanguard did. second of all, the maps are much larger and gives plenty of room to breathe. dice usually excels well in making new maps as every bf had their new weaponry or map designs. the inclusion of specialists is pretty interesting imo and will adda lof of movement. you can change your weapon on the fly, there will be portal for more wacky stuff fi you don't like the official stuff etc. i'm more hopeful for bf2042 than vanguard. vanguard is just a ww2 mod for mw19 made by people that didn't research ww2. :3
