Unreal is most certainly not outdated. Many games use this engine as it has great potential. The issue is the majority of developers have zero idea on how to use the engine properly, and how to utilise the engines better features. Most of the games that have this glossy-washed look are often using default shaders provided by the engine, and they’re okay for rendering say - the inside of a house interior but not so good on organics etc. Been using unreal for developing demos and showcases for my company for many years and thoroughly enjoyed working with it.

My issue was more that they tried to convince the community they’d be making accurate skins, models and weapons etc. Yet I find nowhere in history - a golden STG44 or KAR98K that was used in combat. I had no issue with women, since, female soldiers did exist but usually outside of military requirement (by this I mean, they often were resistance fighters - unless you count Russia then they had female soldiers often used as snipers since they were very accurate. I believe vanguard is using a female protagonist who existed so nice to see some new angles).

Point is. The whole milsim community leaking into battlefield has been very recent and it’s literally just people who either started with BF1 or started with. BF3 and BF4 and were tricked into thinking battlefield is a military simulation game or that the direction of the game should be moving towards that direction

Nope Tarkov is some what survival, u spawn in a world of map knowers and wait to get one tapped by a player that knows ur spawning point and expects u to cross paths with him at some point, so he might aswell camp, ant thats how the non open world survival games work

i see what you are trying to say but it doesn't make much sense, battlefields are meant to be playable wars with vehicles and freedom while still being fun and not having pure realistic mechanics but somewhat realistic environment

People tend to hate marksmen for not playing the objective (which is understandable cause sometimes people take marksman to be a full on sniper which it’s not)
Autoriflemen are sort of… supposed to waste ammo
