I guess people expected the tone to remain after BF1. But if that was the case, then BF1 wouldn’t be as unique as it is. It feels so distinctly different than any other BF game. One that really respected its source material and focused hard on that type of desperation and fear. (On a side note, a horror game set in WW1 would be sick.) But if every game was like that… Firstly, it’d be depressing. Secondly, it would rob BF1 of what makes it so great
