I get that completely, but it's part of the problem, because if publishers and developers know that there's a huge majority of people that will buy anything no matter what, then they don't care to put more effort into their games.

These games just get ruined because they want to cast a wider net instead of doing what put their franchise on the map to begin with and going with what their core fans want. That's what I hope EA/DICE is doing with BF2042. I hope they're actually giving the people who have been playing the franchise for years something they'll enjoy, and that's what the trailers and stuff are looking like, so I'm hopeful.

I stopped playing cod for a crap ton of releases now but mw 2019 brought me back in. But Cold War, stopped during the first week. I would still play MW 2019 if It actually got content, but the battle pass and ingame ads just shows warzone and cold war shit nothing for mw so I stopped playing it completely.

Reason I say it is because, if BF 4 still got content to this day. I wouldn't touch bf5. But Here I am playing Bf5 simply because it is newer and has "new" content. Which in the end is why I hate these short release dates since it often dumps out games I won't play for more than the first few days of release

Now I am actually enjoying BF5 a whole lot more than at release, but that's again... Because they took a year or two to patch the game
