I think campaign should have been added and it's a cheapskate move on their part but overall for the base price of the game I believe your getting a good deal. Your getting 1 mode where you can create custom matches with free hosting. Anything you'd ever want to make a server with and a logic editor to make those matches complex to the point you might be able to make actual gamemodes inside these servers. That's crazy and that's hours and hours of potential content. On top of this you get a base mode for the normal game which I'd imagine has benefits for playing over portal.

But their budget accounts for this already. This shit is pre-planned to the dot, operations like this are very very hard to run. If they set a budget for this game, they don't just increase it to make it better. They already account for the budget in the planning. Imagine you set a budget to make a game for $500(small numbers to illustrate the point) and this budget you think is enough and you've researched this. If you scrap a part of your game like a feature or say a campaign, your not going to raise your budget to $700 because that budget initially was already pre-planned to be enough to make the game

That's a fair point, some staff might be working on different things rather than campaign (but just remember that there is games out there that have campaign and multiplayer and both are good) but there's also writers, voice actors, producers who won't be hired as there is no campaign and that money is not going to improving the game.

But as a business, why would EA spend £1000's making a complex campaign model when really that game mode is so out of date now. No-one really spends 100's of hours playing them, we used to when the trophies were linked to it but these days they arent, its all MP linked. The old way of sucking us into a game that holds the attention is now all about MP and interaction with 'friends' in squads surely......... or is it just me that thinks that way

Well again, Ubisoft is a similar company, they also want more money so they added microtransactions into a campaign game where microtransactions in my opinion do not belong

yes but look at Vahalla, I like that game, the content is good, graphics can be real clunky at points but the game play is good, i brought the game and season pass to gain the extra content but working through teh game upgrading kit is more fun that buying anyday.
