From what I can tell, the USB ones are basically treated like external HDDs by the system. You can run Xbox One games off of it fine and it'll load fast like an SSD should, but if its an actual current-gen version of a game it has to be either the internal SSD or the Seagate 1TB Expansion Card

Bad Company 2 was my first Battlefield game, though I went back and played 1942, 2142, Bad Co 1, and 1943. Its funny though because I wanted BF3 which is why I asked for an Xbox for Christmas in 2011 but when my mom got it she got me Bad Company 2 on accident. Lucky for me Bad Company 2 is phenomenal and I just got BF3 a few months later instead. The 99 Problems ad for BF3 is what got me into non-Nintendo gaming (though I did have a PS2) at the time
