I've been around since the very early days of Battlefield, and I feel as though some players look back at Premium and think that it was a really great thing because they see the maps that it offered, and they knew they were receiving 4 or so maps every so often. You knew what you were signing up for - however the destructive nature of premium from those titles really divided the community.

It established a sorts of two-state community, where those that did not have premium did not have the ability to play with their friends that did, because it was on maps that they didn't own. And that then installed this behaviour of, well if I wanna be with my friends I gotta pay up right?

We don't want to return to those days, the Battle Pass system is the best of both worlds - it keeps people together, and gives people some cool stuff along with it.

I guess like I said, it would have to be the replayability value for players who may want to replay old seasons and get those rewards, or the fact that the company can end support a lot easier without having to deliver a set amount of content even if they promised differently (as seen with BFV although I know that was a bit of a different content system), I cannot speak on if you can replay battlepasses or not in BF2042 to regain rewards that players may have earned previously, but I feel like if you can't, it will sorta put the game down in the long term if you get what I am saying.
