Every specialists is the best with that gadget, having used it for years probably. Having a passive and a fixed gadget does put them into a fixed character slot. Does it matter overall? Maybe. Having a name slapped on you doesn't always feel good when you want to be a grunt, but it's your mindset which defines how you play the game and what you focus on and what motivates you.

I think naming the specialists was a direct response to games like Overwatch - they wanted to get a similar feel to try and build attachments to the characters and therefore get you to spend more on cosmetics. But that doesn't work well in a BF game. I think most people want really good quality facial models as in BFV but they want them more or less nameless with no backstory so they can project on them themselves. Let the community create a Assault specialists backstory - when you do it for them it takes away player agency and destroys the mystery

I get that we already have magical syringes in the game that cure large caliber rifle wounds but I feel like healing darts is a bridge too far.
