They're like the archtypes that were supposed to launch with BFV - Basically it's lite gadget restriction - this is done so the devs can actually balance the gadgets/gameplay - It's super difficult to balance gadgets if everyone can use everything so with this you have some control and you can also give players a theme (hence the specialization) You'll have like a tank killer, medic, anti infantry assault type and so on.

more like customizable archetypes under classes. Basically like for example 3 different recon specialist, their all recon guys, but one of them would basically handle sniper rifles better and have an ability where they are harder to detect at longer range, another would be a more mobile DMR guy, basically sniper rifles like the DSR, 338 lupa magnum guns would get the same treatment they get in IRL to an extent, where you have to set them up with a bi or tri pod to aim and shoot them, otherwise its just hipfire.
