I noticed that in BF4, the sounds from afar were also audible to u making it sound like ur in war, I future titles like bf1 for example, they replaced that with more mudded out gunshots and war screams and background war tapes to make it immersive and the main sounds to listen to were the nearby fire and footsteps
I think they mixed it up with bf5 but toned down the aggressive and exaggerated and immersive sounds of bf1 in bf5

Well personally I think the greatest challenge DICE has to face when it comes to sound design is how to make the sound of guns if not the same gun and grenades not sound the same through out all there games as there all using real life sounds just edited in such a way that sounds great to the human ear

Yea I somewhat agree, but it’s a hard argument, as I think people went a little overboard with the whole females being playable in the game, as just only a year before Call of duty WW2 did the same thing yet it didn’t receive anywhere near as close of criticism as Battlefield did. But I agree some of there cosmetic choices were a little out of the ordinary even tho they did state that “this was their vision of World War 2”. I think a lot of it just comes down to getting off on the wrong foot and that being the reveal trailer, it just didn’t represent the game as good as it should have and first impressions are everything
